Terms and Conditions
In brief
- Zion Dispatch is a free, non-commercial headline monitor. It is not a newsroom and does not publish original reporting.
- Headlines, summaries, and images come from third-party RSS feeds. Those materials belong to their publishers, not to us.
- We are not affiliated with BBC News, NPR, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, NASA, or any other source shown on the monitor.
- The Service is offered for personal, non-commercial viewing. Clicking a story takes you to the publisher’s own site.
- We use Google Analytics to measure visits. Details are in the Privacy section.
- Questions, takedown requests, and support: [email protected]
1. Who we are
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Zion Dispatch, the visual news monitor available at ziondispatch.stream and any related pages (the “Service”). In these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the operator of Zion Dispatch. “You” means anyone who visits, views, or otherwise uses the Service.
The Service is an independent project. It is not a licensed broadcaster, wire service, newspaper, or official channel of any government, publisher, or network.
2. Agreement
By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation, and “you” includes that organisation.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The current version is always available at ziondispatch.stream/terms.
3. What the Service is
Zion Dispatch presents a continuous, television-style readout of recent headlines. For each item we may display a title, a short summary or dek, a timestamp, a source name, a category, and — where a feed supplies one — a still image. We do not host, store, or reproduce full articles.
Stories are collected from publicly available RSS feeds and shown for informational viewing. Selecting a story opens the publisher’s own website, where the complete article and that publisher’s terms, privacy notice, and advertising (if any) apply.
On-screen controls (pause, speed, timeframe, and category filters) change only how the monitor is presented to you. They do not alter the underlying publishers’ content or create an editorial product of our own.
4. What the Service is not
You acknowledge that Zion Dispatch is not:
- an original news organisation, editorial desk, or journalist of record;
- affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by BBC News, NPR, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, NASA, or any other source named on the Service;
- a complete archive, transcript, or reprint of any publisher’s output;
- professional advice of any kind, including legal, financial, medical, or safety advice;
- a guarantee that any headline is accurate, current, complete, or correctly categorised.
Always read the original article on the publisher’s site before relying on a story. If a matter is urgent or official — weather, health, travel, law enforcement, elections — consult the relevant authority, not this monitor.
5. Third-party headlines, images, and copyright
All headlines, summaries, photographs, graphics, and other feed materials remain the property of their respective publishers, authors, photographers, and licensors. We do not claim ownership of that material. Display on the Service is for personal, non-commercial informational use as a headline monitor, with source names shown on-screen. We do not use publisher logos.
Sources currently include BBC News, NPR, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, and NASA. Feeds and source mix may change. Each publisher’s own terms, RSS conditions, and copyright notices continue to apply to their material. In particular, some feeds (including certain Guardian RSS feeds) are made available for personal, non-commercial use; the Service is operated on that basis.
You may not scrape, harvest, bulk-download, re-host, or republish headlines, summaries, or images from the Service as your own product, feed, or publication. Following a link to read the original article is the intended next step; copying the monitor’s output is not.
Rights holders who believe material appears on the Service in error should write to [email protected] with a description of the work, the URL or headline as shown on Zion Dispatch, your contact details, and a statement of the rights you hold. We will review good-faith notices and may remove or stop displaying the item.
6. Accuracy, delay, and editorial independence
Feeds are ingested on a schedule and may lag live publishing. Items can appear late, out of order, duplicated, truncated, miscategorised, or without an image. Images may fail to load. A headline may be updated or withdrawn by the publisher after we have already displayed an earlier version.
We do not fact-check, edit for accuracy, or independently verify stories. We do not speak for any publisher. Selection, order, timing, and visual presentation on the monitor are automated or operator-configured and do not constitute an endorsement of any article, person, or viewpoint.
7. Intended use
The Service is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial viewing. You may watch the monitor, pause it, filter categories, and open source articles in the ordinary way a reader would.
You agree not to:
- use the Service to operate a competing commercial news product, syndication feed, or paid display built from our aggregated output;
- frame, mirror, or wrap the Service in a way that suggests affiliation with us or with any publisher shown on screen;
- interfere with ingest, databases, APIs, or infrastructure, including by overloading, probing unpublished endpoints, or circumventing access controls;
- use bots or automated clients in a manner that impairs the Service for others, except for ordinary search-engine indexing of public pages;
- remove or obscure source attribution, these Terms, or contact information;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including copyright infringement or the distribution of malware.
8. Outbound links
Almost every story on the monitor is a doorway to someone else’s website. We do not control those sites, their availability, their advertising, or how they handle your data. Your use of a publisher’s site is solely between you and that publisher. A link is not a recommendation.
9. Our intellectual property
The Zion Dispatch name, the CRT presentation, layout, original graphics, and the selection and arrangement of the monitor interface are ours (or are used under licence). You may not copy the product’s look, branding, or code as a commercial imitation without our prior written permission. Reasonable personal screenshots or commentary that credit Zion Dispatch are fine.
10. Availability
The Service is offered as a live monitor, not as a guaranteed utility. It may be interrupted, paused, redesigned, or withdrawn at any time. Feeds may drop, a source may disappear, or the screen may show no signal. We do not promise uptime, completeness, or that any particular outlet will remain in the mix.
11. Privacy
Zion Dispatch does not require an account and does not ask you to create a login. We do not sell subscriptions or run our own advertising on the monitor.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate use of the Service — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are, and what kind of device they use. That may store analytics cookies on your device. We configure Google’s consent mode to allow analytics storage and to deny advertising storage, ad user data, and ad personalization. We do not use Google Analytics for ads. Google’s own privacy policy applies to data it processes.
The Service does load headlines from our hosting and database providers. Like most websites, those systems may process ordinary technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request time in server logs in order to operate and secure the Service. When you follow a story, the publisher’s own privacy practices apply.
Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].
12. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT HEADLINES ARE ACCURATE, THAT IMAGES ARE RIGHTS-CLEARED FOR ANY USE BEYOND VIEWING ON THE MONITOR, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible loss, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or from reliance on any headline, summary, or image shown on it.
To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim — which, because the Service is free, is zero — or the minimum amount required by applicable law, whichever is greater.
Some places do not allow certain limitations. In those places, the limits above apply only to the maximum extent permitted. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is forbidden.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else’s rights.
15. Children
The Service displays general news headlines, which may include coverage of violence, conflict, and other adult subjects. It is not directed at children. If you are under the age where you can form a binding contract in your country, you should use the Service only with a parent or guardian.
16. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or stop offering the Service, or block access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or threatens the monitor, its sources, or other viewers. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity — will survive.
17. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a court finds any part unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganisation or transfer of the Service.
These Terms are written in English. If a translation is provided, the English text controls. Disputes should be raised first by email so we have a chance to resolve them. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of the Service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would point elsewhere, except where a mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence says otherwise.
