About Zion Dispatch
What it is
Zion Dispatch is a free CRT-style news monitor — a continuous television broadcast of world headlines rendered in green phosphor on a stationary screen. It is an experiential retro news ticker, not a newsroom and not a news app in the usual sense.
A Matrix-inspired headline monitor
The look and feel are inspired by the opening sequence of The Matrix: dense, green, always on. Headlines cycle through the screen like a wire-service broadcast tuned to a cathode-ray tube that never powers down.
If you are looking for a CRT news broadcast, a retro news monitor, or a Matrix-style headline ticker on the web, this is what Zion Dispatch is built to be.
Where the headlines come from
Stories are collected from publicly available RSS feeds: BBC News, NPR, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, and NASA. We show titles, summaries, timestamps, and — where a feed supplies one — a still image. We do not host full articles. Clicking a story opens the publisher's own site.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of those publishers.
How to use it
- Space — pause or resume the broadcast
- 1 / 2 / 3 — slow, normal, or fast speed
- Arrow keys — skip to previous or next story
- Hover — hold a story so you can open it
On-screen controls let you filter by category, change the time window, toggle sound, and enter fullscreen.
Free and non-commercial
Zion Dispatch is a personal, non-commercial project. No account, no subscription, no advertising trackers. It is offered for personal viewing only.
